The American Broker Academy is operated in the same facility as Seoma Transportation, a successful brokerage in Everett, Washington. Our experienced instructors teach real-world, hands-on skills that you need to know to excel in this fast-paced field. Seoma Transportation also allows our students to train for 2 days (The Agent Experience) in their brokerage actually moving loads. You'll leave knowing how to start your business and run it successfully using today's new techniques and methods of finding the best clients, keeping your clients, finding carriers, negotiating rates, growing your business, using the latest brokering and internet tools, new marketing techniques, getting your authority and any necessary legal and insurance elements. There has never been a school that better prepares you for a successful career as a transportation broker or agent.
EVERETT WA CLASSES: Every month ABA holds one 3-Day Broker Workshop followed by a 2-Day Agent Experience at the ABA School in Everett Washington. The Agent Experience includes time spent taking orders and moving actual loads at Seoma Transportation which shares the facility with ABA.
TRAVELING CLASSES: Throughout the year, ABA offers 3-Day traveling workshops in or near major metropolitan cities throughout the U.S. These classes are more convenient for most people since we are basically bringing the classes to you. This truly is a very hands-on, invaluable learning experience. It is required that you bring your own laptop computer with you, or rent one from the instructor (5-days notice necessary.) If you are looking for even more hands-on experience actually working in a brokerage and moving loads, then we recommend the Washington classes since you will spend a full 2-days working in an actual brokerage.
ABA class size is limited to assure you receive the personal attention you need. Although it is helpful, no prior computer or trucking experience is required. The school is located in a beautiful new building with a highly successful, modern brokerage for hands-on training purposes. Every student has a personal workstation equipped with a computer, monitor, keyboard, mouse, software, textbook, notebook, and writing instruments. Two large monitors are mounted in the classroom for instructional purposes including live web sessions with various experts from across the country. NOTE: Number of students, facilities and equipment provided in workshops outside of the Everett, Washington classroom will vary.

5-day Course in Washington includes 3 days of learning in a modern classroom with personal computers, big screen monitors and personal training by two of the most successful brokers in the country. This is followed by a 2-day freight agent training experience. Here you learn by actually doing. You will work in an actual brokerage moving freight, quoting rates, finding freight, finding trucks, negotiating rates, etc. This is the "real deal". You are learning by actually doing. And the instructors are right there with you, helping you along the way. At times, students are even taken out on sales calls and learn how to close actual deals.
3-day Traveling Workshops include 3 days of training using laptop computers and one or two top instructors per class. In these private workshops you will learn everything you need to know to start your own brokerage or to become a freight agent.
Freight brokering is a recession-proof industry for those who know how to do it right. As long as people buy products, there's freight to move. 3-DAY "BROKER WORKSHOP!" At the American Broker Academy freight broker training school you will undergo 3 days of intensive, no-nonsense (but fun!) workshop days. You'll learn everything you can imagine about opening and running a highly successful freight brokerage or agency at our "Broker Workshop!" Through class participation, textbook, large-screen demonstrations, interactive discussion, webinar training from professionals across the country, and hands-on sales, management, licensing, legal, freight broker software training, quizzes and testing, you will feel prepared and excited about your new, lucrative career. This is the ideal course for freight agent training. 1 or 2-DAY "AGENT EXPERIENCE!" There is simply no better way to learn than on-the-job training. This is quite literally a hands-on training experience. You will put your new skills in motion, making sales calls, finding loads, finding trucks, negotiating rates, moving loads, etc. But don't worry, the instructor will be there at all times, to help you through the process. You will learn more about running your own freight brokerage or being a freight agent in these 1 or 2 days than you could with weeks in a classroom. As a temporary agent of Seoma Transporation, throughout the "Agent Experience!" you will be eligible to earn commissions on any new clients and new loads you find.
The "Agent Experience" typically follows the 3-Day "Broker Workshop!" and it is highly recommended for attendees of the 3-Day "Broker Workshop!" to also attend the "Agent Experience!". Although it is not required for attendees of the "Agent Experience!" to have completed the 3-Day "Broker Workshop!", it is expected that all attendees have a strong understanding of the necessary aspects of freight brokering. 5-DAY INTENSIVE COMBO Is a package deal including the 3-Day Workshop followed by the 2-Day Agent Experience. Only available at the school and brokerage in WA. This is by far the best method of training at a price that can't be beat. If you want to do it right, this is the real-deal. You'll leave confident in your abilities and ready to start making serious money in this industry!
