We train top performing agents and brokers.
The American Freight Broker Academy is the premiere freight agent training and freight broker school in the country. We provide training professionals looking to enter the freight broker business. Our classes are held at the Academy in Everett, Washington. Throughout the year, we also provide 3-day freight agent training workshops in various cities across the country.
Our 5-day Washington school includes 3 days of learning in a modern classroom with personal computers, big screen monitors and 2 instructors. This freight broker school is followed by a 2-day freight agent training experience, working in an actual brokerage moving freight, quoting rates, finding freight, finding trucks, negotiating rates, etc. This is the "real deal". You are learning by actually doing. And the ABA freight broker school instructors are right there with you, helping you along the way.
Our 3-day traveling workshops include 3 days of freight agent training using laptop computers and one or two instructors per class depending upon size. In these workshops, you will learn everything you need to know to start your own brokerage or to become a freight agent.
Freight brokering is a recession-proof industry. As long as there is freight to be moved, freight brokering will be alive. And freight broker
businesses around the country send their agents to us for the best freight agent training in the world! Their agents return with the latest techniques and knowledge to excel in this industry. For larger freight broker businesses, we will send one or two instructors to your office to perform the freight agent training right on-site. This cuts down on travel expenses and increases the personalization of the learning experience.
Expect the best and accept no less!
The Immersion Method for ABA Freight Broker Training School Students
In these freight training programs you live, breathe and actually work as a broker and agent. You learn by actually doing it!
3-DAY "BROKER WORKSHOP!" At ABA's freight broker school you will undergo 3 days of intensive, no-nonsense (but fun!) workshop learning everything you can imagine about opening and running a highly successful freight brokerage or agency. Through class participation, textbook, large-screen demonstrations, interactive discussion, webinar training from professionals across the country, and hands-on sales, management, licensing, legal aspects, and software training, you will feel prepared and excited about your new, lucrative career. This is business training at it's very best!
1 or 2-DAY "AGENT EXPERIENCE!" - Apprenticeship! There is simply no better way to learn than on-the-job training. This is quite literally a hands-on training experience. You will put your new skills in motion, making sales calls, finding loads, finding trucks, negotiating rates, moving loads, etc. But don't worry, the instructor will be there at all times, to help you through the process. With this apprentice-style freight agent training, you will learn more about running your own brokerage or being a freight agent in these 1 or 2 days than you could with weeks in a classroom. As a temporary agent of Seoma Transporation, throughout the "Agent Experience!" you will be eligible to earn commissions on any new clients and new loads you find.
The "Agent Experience" typically follows the 3-Day "Broker Workshop!" and it is highly recommended for attendees of the Workshop to also attend the "Agent Experience!". Although it is not required for attendees of the "Agent Experience!" to have completed the 3-Day "Broker Workshop!", it is expected that all attendees have a strong understanding of the necessary aspects of the business. This is truly a freight broker school worth it's weight in fuel!

What's In The Name?
So you've heard the term "Freight Broker," but did you know freight brokering professionals are also referred to as a: Load Broker, Transportation Broker, Truck Broker, Freight Agent, Transportation Agent, Travel Agent for Freight, Load Agent, Freight Agent and Freight Forwarder to name just a few? All are non-asset based, third party logistics providers who arrange ground transportation for shippers or manufacturers of goods. However, freight forwarders typically arrange international shipments which may include ship, plane, truck or rail. And Agents must work for a Broker. The Broker is the one legally responsible for the activities of the Agents, much like real estate brokers who have agents. The Agent does not have the business costs and liability associated with being the Broker. Also, the act of perfoming these services may be referred to as freight brokering, load brokering, freight forwarding, etc. Come and learn everything you need to be a top producer at the American Broker Academy's freight broker school.
